From chandeliers made from underwear to glamorous glass bars, the International Contemporary Furniture Fair is a place to see and be seen in the world of furniture. Throughout the duration of the fair, which is North America’s premier showcase for contemporary design, about 560 companies showcased their latest home furnishings across 145,000 square feet of exhibition space. So what items were stand outs?
Compact nesting tables, brightly colored end tables, and versatile drawers were big at the fair, which means more stylish options for small spaces or apartments.
Furniture pieces with organic metal accents, coins, or studding shone through, lending a bit of edge to some classic pieces.
Organic with a Twist
Natural and organic furniture pieces continued the trend of “going green”, but only with more risk taking. Uniquely shaped forms and natural styles took center stage in many eco-chic pieces.
Making the most of what you have can be a smart move in any home. Old pieces got new life with bold hues, unique uses, and intricate designs. Creativity was not lacking in the least.
