I love earth tones, calming even tones, for those that follow this blog regularly have noticed this pattern. When on one of my used bookstore trips I came across a decorating book from the early 1970’s. I was stunned by how much ‘modern’ items have changed. How walls were painted crazy hues, and large bulky sofas anchored a room. Some of the pages had designs that were beyond belief; some were elegant, some were tacky, but all were intriguing. I started wondering: When did we all get so neutral in decor?
That thought inspired this blog, a bold crisp modern room design. With this challenge to myself, I give you a bold room!
Black and white, simply, is my pallet. Old ideas and a new chair is our jump off point:
This high quality chair from Malibu Club Chair/Camelot Chenille – Armen Art, oversized and armless, is amazing to look at and cozy to sit in!
Imagine two of these flanking a white fireplace on a black wall! A lot yes, but this blog is all about breaking out of beige! Don’t have a fireplace? Buy one!
